Description
These tablets are for the short term use in adults with difficulty sleeping; for treatment of allergic conditions; for short term use as sedative in children ages 5 years and older and for the prevention of travel sickness.
- Not recommended for children below 2 years
- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine
- Do not use for more than 7 days without seeking medical advice from a doctor
DO NOT USE
- if the person taking the medicine (as tablets) is under 5 years of age
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to promethazine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of Promethazine Hydrochloride Tablets (listed in Section 6 below)
- if you are taking a medicine for depression called a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI). Also do not take Promethazine Hydrochloride Tablets if you have stopped taking one of these MAOI medicines within the last 14 days
- alcohol while you are taking Promethazine Hydrochloride Tablets, this is because it can affect the way the medicine works
- if you are breast-feeding
- use any tools or machines or drive
- for longer than 7 days
- more than the recommended dose
- more than two tablets (20mg) each day
